Participation of Citizens in Public Financial Decision-Making in Serbia

Participation in the local public finance decision-making process Serbia is not a new concept as it was implemented even during ‘Titoistic’ period. However, direct participation still an infant phase altogether with low interest of citizens participating financial procedures. The aim this paper to explain main types civic (i.e., referendum voting on self-imposed contribution, participatory budgeting, and crowdfunding) focus factors that lead such processes. Additionally, article analyses how these affect general mistrust politics society. For purpose, total N=421 were interviewed.
